About the Local Foods Task Force
Statement
of purpose
The UMN Local Foods Task Force represents faculty,
staff, students, alumni and stakeholders from across Minnesota committed to
increasing community food security through strengthening local food systems. We
work to ensure widespread availability of local and sustainably produced foods
throughout the University system. We will also seek to build the University’s
resources around local food production, processing, distribution, and
consumption in service to affordable, diverse, healthy, and just local food
systems. By engaging and collaborating with University leadership and
colleagues, we will craft and implement constructive strategies to fulfill our
aims.
